"You made lots of speeches during the Lok Sabha elections, saying that a lot of black money is stashed in foreign banks. These speeches alerted those who had deposited black money. Now, you should reveal the names of account holders," said Mulayam, while addressing a public gathering here.
On Modi's proposed visit to China, the SP chief said, "Modi is shaking hand with China despite the fact that it deceived us and captured one lakh square km land. Lok Sabha had also passed a resolution that no talk with China is possible until it withdraws its claim on Indian land."
"Today, the nation wants to know whether he (Modi) raised this issue before the Chinese leader. China has betrayed our trust in the past. It backstabbed Jawaharlal Nehru who could not overcome the shock and died," the SP leader. India faces no threat from Pakistan, but China could pose a serious threat, he claimed.
"Modi should also tell the nation how many people were employed in the country. During campaigning, Modi said that he will give employment to the jobless. Has anyone present here got job through any of the schemes of Modi," he further said.
Before laying foundation stones for projects worth Rs 1,987 crore, including a new sugar mill at Sathioan here, Mulayam said it was true that his Azamgarh visit was delayed but he has not come empty-handed. He also claimed that he preferred to retain Azamgarh despite low victory margin in Lok Sabha election in comparison to Mainpuri.
Amid loud cheering, Mulayam said that he decided to retain Azamgarh LS seat although he had won Mainpuri seat with a bigger margin of over 3.5 lakh votes. "For me it was hard to choose, but I preferred Azamgarh, as I am emotionally attached with this place," he said explaining that after the formation of SP, its first big meeting was held in Azamgarh and the political journey of the party began from this place.
"It is true that I delayed visiting Azamgarh, but I have come with projects worth Rs 2,000 crore," he said and sought people's cooperation to turn Azamgarh into an "adarsh zila". He lamented that "though the SP government is fulfilling its promises made to the people but its leaders and ministers are not telling them earnestly about the work done".
He also distributed cheques of Krishak Vyaktigat Durghatna Bima Yojna, Samajwadi Pension Yojna, bicycles and laptops to the beneficiaries on the occasion.
